Poppies to flower again
AFTER months of uncertainty, Moruya RSL Sub-branch will be on the streets of Moruya and Tuross again this year selling poppies and other Remembrance Day memorabilia. Deputy president Kevin Setter and secretary Barry Stephens said poppies should be on sale on November 8 and 9. Sub-branches could not sell poppies last year due to legal problems relating to NSW headquarters.

Mr Setter outlined new requirements for donations to organisations and individuals, including schools. Recipients must first produce invoices with ABNs. Paul Barkley presented his father Harold’s resignation as sub-branch president, due to ill-health. Members will make suitable recognition for Harold’s service to the sub-branch. Harold said being a president was “a milestone”.
There will be no Dawn Service on November 11, just the 11am ceremony at the Memorial Hall.
