Spokesperson Ms Kathryn Maxwell said: “We explained to those who came to our stall, the devastating impacts that will come from removing a number of critical environmental protections on rural land under the council’s plans to substantially amend Eurobodalla's Local Environment Plan, the planning blueprint for the Shire.”
She said more than 150 Granite Town attendees signed a letter to Bega MP the Hon. Andrew Constance, urging him to ask the NSW Minister for Planning, Anthony Roberts, to reject the planning proposal.
Mr Noel Plumb, convenor of the Alliance said there were concerns that the proposal, if adopted, would threaten water quality, oyster farms and the long term health and beauty of our unspoilt natural environment.
