Bundy’s horse Sonnets, ridden by Jess Taylor, won the race from Norm Gardner’s Upper House by less than a length.
It was Sonnets’ first win since March this year at the Sapphire Coast Turf Club, and followed up a third-place finish at the Moruya Jockey Club’s August meet.
Bruce Cross’ Adaboycharlie finished third, ahead of Matthew Dale’s Marzena. The race was extremely tight, as the first six horses were separated by less than three lengths.
Race six, the Climate Control Benchmark 66 Showcase Handicap, saw a win for trainer Danny Williams, as Tiger By the Tale won from barrier number six.
Robert and Luke Price’s Feisty Fox finished in second place, ahead of Natalie Jarvis’ Malachi Crunch.
Mitchell Bell rode Tash Burleigh’s Territorial to fourth place.
