“Mr Foley was too gutless to meet with local oyster farmers from places such as Batemans Bay and Narooma,” Mr Constance said while defending investment in the industry.
“Mr Foley, before you come into our region spreading your lies, you might want to do your own due diligence and actually look at the real issues facing regional NSW, not grandstand on matters you know very little about.”
Mr Constance’s comments come as some growers plan to appeal against the NSW Government’s decision to invest $3.3million in Australia’s Oyster Coast.
Mr Constance said the investment was designed to bolster the region’s produce into new markets and generate jobs.
”Whilst I have met with those farmers not associated with Australia’s Oyster Coast – and have a number of issues that are being followed through with relevant Ministers – I believe Mr Foley and the political staffer running as his local candidate would be best to not use the oyster industry as a political football,” he said.
