The service was held at the Honour Stone on Beach road, with a crowd gathering to pay their respects.
The event went smoothly, despite strong, gusty winds.
Organiser Tony Herbert said the day was important for many reasons.
“These events in history deserve to be remembered,” he said.
“The sacrifices made anywhere Australians have fought deserve to be commemorated.
“And we remember those who went before and come after us. It’s important for the families of those who have fallen to know we remember them.”
