Toes twinkled, costumes wowed and the audience went wild for the ten competitors and their partners.
Performances ranged from contemporary to the pole, flamenco to tribal and everything in between.
The judges’ choice award went to Vicky and Steve Haberly, for their Dirty Dancing tribute, choreographed by the incomparable Paige Davies, and the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner’s own Duncan McLaughlin with his teacher Charmaine Brereton, for their dizzying pole antics.
Shea Lee Stanton and Robyn Svensson were recognised for their respective feathered and sequinned outfits with the best costume award. The two dynamos also took out the people’s choice award.
Kimberli Eke with dance teacher Kassi Lozzi were the highest fundraiser, bringing in $9200 of donations.
The total raised (so far) is $39, 020 – but if you get in quick, you can help bring that number up to a clean $40, 000, organiser Kelly Hayes said.
“The money raised from the event will be used to continue the Eurobodalla transport program to transport those who need cancer treatment to appointments,” Ms Hayes said.
“People can still donate and the link is on the Stars of the Eurobodalla page.”
Ms Hayes said she was ecstatic with the success of the evening.
“When I looked around the room on the night, everyone was up and dancing. celebrating our stars and dancers, and the journey they have taken over the past few months – tirelessly rehearsing their dance routine and raising funds,” she said.
“It was a fantastic night where the Cancer Council and local community were able to come together to truly make a difference.”
