In a field of 128 juniors, James recorded a hole-in-one at the 13th hole at Belmont. He had a mixed bag on the par 72 course with a triple, two doubles, three bogies, three birdies, eight pars and the Hole in One. On Wednesday, he sat 10 shots behind the leader Louis Dobbelaar, of Queensland, who shot -5.
James was in 6th position in his 15 year-old-age group behind Lachlan Chamberlain (Federal GC) with 2 under.

Tuross Head vets
New member beats the field in Tuross Vets Single Stableford
On what was a particularly cold start to the day, 50 players registered for this morning's Single Stableford event. Results on the day were as follows:
1st: A new member playing his first Tuross Vets event Marcel Kors with 21 points on count back.
2nd: Len Rogers also on 21.
3rd: Mike Birks on 20 points on count back.
4th: Terry Lunn, also on 20 and also on count back.
Ball or Chocolate:
Greg Thornton and Ian Manton on 20, Derek Hoare, Sandra Hanlon, John Cox and Chris Wratten on 19, followed by Greg Smith and Lachlan Nordsvan on 18.
Bradman Award:
Rick Brake took out the award this week on a two way count back.
Nearest the Pins:
4th: Michael Nordsvan.
6th: Ken Brown.
Ladies 7th: Chris Wratten.
Men's 7th: Frank Pomfret.
Accuracy:
Vets Captain Ian Miller hit a rare straight one down the centre to win this week's award.

Tuross Head men
Each month Tuross Head golfers compete for a monthly medal in each of three divisions.
On the first Saturday in July the individual winners then play for the annual Medal of Medals award.
This year the winner was Steve Johnston with a low net score of 68 strokes.
Divisional winners were:
A grade best was Brad Doolan who also returned a net score of 68 and finished second in the major event on a countback.
Bruce Lidbury with 73 strokes was second in his division with Jason Nikolic filling third spot with 74 net strokes.
B grade winner was Russell Taylor with 72 strokes ahead of Andrew Gordon and Bruce Martin who both handed in cards of 73.
C grade division produced the overall medal winner Steve Johnston with a net 68.
Herb Muriwai 72 and Peter Johnston filling the minor placings.
Brad Doolan produced the lowest off the stick score with 75 strokes.
Ian McManus had the best round in the putting competition and Jason Nikolic won the Tuross Motel Golden Shot with a close 63 centimetres on the second hole.
Nearest the pins:
A grade best on the 4th hole was Aaron Monopoli with 30 centimetres.
Brad Doolan was closest on the 6th with 1.10 m and Dave Bray won the 7th hole with 6.11 m.
B grade golfer Peter McRae won the 4th hole with 2.11 m.
Peter Nikolic was awarded the 6th with 7.36 m and
Kevin Dukes was best on the 7th hole with 5.54 m.
C grade player Peter Johnston won the 4th hole with 98 centimetres and Ian Kingston was best on the 7th hole 6.25 m.
Next Saturday's competition is the Scoty stableford event.
Thursday's medal stableford competition was won by Christopher Earl with a high 49 points ahead of Ian Kingston 38, Brad Doolan and Bruce Lidbury who both finished on 34 stabeford points.
Nearest the pins were won by Brad Doolan on the 4th hole, Roger Chappell won the 6th and Brad Doolan was also successful on the 7th hole.
Moruya women
On Wednesday, July 11, Moruya women enjoyed the unusual competition called 3 Ball Countdown.
It involved teams of three each playing Stableford with the score achieved by one best result for each Par 5 holes, the best two results for Par 4 holes and all three scores for Par 3 holes.
The best team effort came from Alison O’Connor, Noelene Cowdroy and Shirley Noy with 75 points.
Runners-Up were Jan Woolley, Noelene Levi and Judy Love with 71 points.
Nearest the Pin winners were Robyn Hawkins (Div.1), Jan Young (Div. 2).
It was Div 3’s turn for Longest Drive where Jan Woolley was the longest, and the ball keeping to the fairway.
