Forrest is a talented rugby league player who plays for the under 12s. His journey to State selection was a long process, and fullfils a goal he set himself more than a year ago.
Jed will join 33 other boys in the NSW squad at the Under 12s Rugby League Championships in Adelaide from August 11 to 18. He will now attend the New South Wales Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) Rugby League State Development Camp.
From here, the squad of 34 will attend a training and development camp at the Academy of Sports in Narrabeen from July 8 to 12. A second camp will be held at Collegians Sporting Complex from August 5 to 7 prior to the championships in Adelaide.
Jed was wrapped that he was announced to be part of this team, as it was a goal he had set himself last year after competing in the under 11s South Coast team at the PSSA carnival. On pondering on his selection Jed remarked: “I can’t believe I made the NSW team!”.
An extremely passionate boy when it comes to playing rugby league, Jed is known for his focus and tough attitude, despite not be the biggest player on the field.
Jed and his parents, Belinda and Nathan, would like to thank all the South Coast boys for being great team mates.
Jed believes you are only as good as the team you play with and the coaches and managers that got you there.
“I guess I’m lucky to have had a great footy coach like Jeff Cox from a young age,” he said.
“He’s taught me the skills I have today.”
