The public exhibition of the Eurobodalla Shire Council strategy ends today.
“It seems heavily biased towards those involved in property development, those with substantial property holdings,” he said. “This isn’t appropriate, because the strategy affects the social, economic and environment capital of the Eurobodalla. Council should have been stronger in making it representative.”
The council denies the claim, saying the committee was set up after open expressions of interest, and did not make decisions. “There were three occasions where the wider community was invited to be involved with the development of the (strategy),” a spokesperson said. “The policy directions phase in particular involved workshops with a range of ... groups, including Coastwatchers.”
Mr Plumb said the documents on display were lengthy: “The exhibition materials alone weigh nearly 10kg. They are nearly impenetrable to ordinary community members.”
