Police said officers were conducting RBT on Beach Road near Pacific Street just after 8pm on Monday, June 11, when a driver failed to comply with police direction.
Police allege the driver continued towards Pacific Street and accelerated harshly towards the Bavarde Avenue intersection. Officers packed up the RBT site and attempted to flag down the driver, but lost sight of the vehicle.
A short time later, police located the vehicle on the opposite side of Beach Road, just south of the Hanging Rock intersection, blocking one lane of traffic. Police said it appeared the vehicle had crossed a concrete median strip, causing damage and a flat tyre.
Police allege the occupants fled the vehicle, which was later towed from the scene.
Officers spoke to witnesses and later identified an alleged female occupant of the car.
Police are now investigating the driver and owner of the vehicle.
Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact Batemans Bay Police on 4472 0099.
