“If it wasn’t for them, Mum wouldn’t be alive at all,” a family member said.
The 45-year-old woman was trapped in a Holden Commodore after a two-car accident at 2.07pm.
Emergency crews were called to the scene, and a spokesman for NSW Ambulance said two people were injured in the southbound lane. A second person suffered minor injuries.
Paramedics stabilised the woman before Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue freed her. She was taken to Batemans Bay hospital in a critical condition.
She was taken to St George Hospital in Sydney, and a spokesperson on November 10 said she remained in a critical but stable condition.
