Playing their first game for nearly a month, the side ran riot in the second half to win 21.20.146 to 5.7.37. Coach Michael Kenny said he wasn’t too worried about his side being able to find their rhythm after three weeks off.
“It can be difficult to come back after that amount of time, but we have been training pretty hard as a team, so I don’t think it really affected us in this match,” he said.
“We didn’t have it all our own way in the first half, but we were able to put them away well in the second.
“I was pretty impressed with the performance of some of our younger players in the win.”
A man of the match performance from midfielder Jarrod Thompson spearheaded the victory, with Kyle O’Malley, Sam Millynn and Ross Hummel leading the goal scoring with four apiece.
