Colby Heron, Nyeasha Hoskins-Moore and Lilly Rose Bennett were picked for the inaugural competition on the back of strong performances in the Illawarra November 9s.
The news comes as Illawarra Rugby League announced it will launch a new U18 female competition in 2017 to complement the existing open ages division.
The Bay Tigers have committed to enter teams in both competitions, bringing the option of contact rugby league to girls and women in the area.
Illawarra Division Rugby League Manager Chris Bannerman has welcomed this expansion of the competition.
“With Bateman’s Bay Tigers now entering our women’s Rugby League competitions in under 18s and opens, we can offer women and girls an opportunity in tackle and tag versions of Rugby League from the suburbs of Wollongong, in the Shoalhaven region via the Bomaderry club, and now in the south coast and Eurobodalla area through the Bateman’s Bay Tigers” he said.
“The talent we saw at the recent November 9s justifies the expansion of our competitions, and this region will certainly produce many more NSW and Australian Jillaroo representative players in the next few year.”
