Marathon organiser Andrew Edmunds said conditions were did not favour a race at sea. Narooma Bar, Bermagui Bar and Moruya were not ideal for support boats to cross and there was “messy dangerous surf at Coila and Narooma beaches”.
"Today's race will be a circuit race on Wagonga Inlet,” Mr Edmunds said.
“A briefing will be held on the course at 9am at Quota Park, near Taylor's Boat shed, Riverside Drive Narooma," he said.
Racing will be delayed an hour and skis would start at 10am.
Mr Edmunds said organisers would try ensure the inland course was a similar distance to the 22km course from Tuross to Narooma.
"We never like going inland, but have looked for a number of options and a race at sea today was just not possible.”
