Jimmy Barnes, Mark Seymour, The Angels, Noiseworks and the Badloves are booked to play at Mackay Park on January 2.
Steve Balbi, bass player with the recently re-formed Noiseworks, says he has been to the South Coast “more times than he can count”, and is looking forward to getting down here again.
“It’s a breeding ground, not only for sharks but for great rock and roll,” he said.
He’s also looking forward to performing alongside fellow rock legends.
“There’s going to be a real party atmosphere on this tour; we’re going to go absolutely stupid,” he said.
“Our first tour was with The Angels, and our second tour was with Jimmy Barnes, and we cultivated great friendships which we will always have.”
Noiseworks churned out hit-laden albums Noiseworks, Touch, and Love Versus Money in the 1980s and ’90s before Balbi and Justin Stanley left to form the Electric Hippies.
They have re-formed, with the original line-up, and the Batemans Bay audience will hear their classics as well as songs from their as-yet untitled new album.
“We felt we had a great album in us, and it will be by far the best we have done,” Steve said.
“It will have a current sound, but due to the chemistry it will still sound like Noiseworks.”
The Angels, now fronted by Dave Gleeson after the death of Doc Neeson last year, are approaching their 40th anniversary and have an album of new material.
The Red Hot Summer Tour always sells out in advance, so music fans are recommended to get in early for tickets.
The concert is on Saturday January 2, at Mackay Park.
