We all know how long it takes for such projects to move from decision through planning through construction to completion.
The bypass road is a typical example of that – still not finished after a decade.
I understand the disappointment of those who have been lobbying for other improvements to our social infrastructure.
Over the time it will take for the bridge to materialise, they will have plenty of time to get their projects accepted and funded.
The bridge project will prime the whole local economy to everyone’s benefit – confidence, social, jobs, tourism, safety, ease of movement and reputation of our town as a good place to live.
We in Batemans Bay are indeed fortunate that our local member is the state Treasurer and resides in our town.
Let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth.
