Why hasn’t the Catalina Club board of management done something to stop the rot that can be seen to be happening at the site?
I remember when working bees were held there in the 1950s every weekend.
People gave their time gladly and in large numbers, to help get the club started.
I cry when I drive by the site now, knowing how much work was involved getting the club up to the standard of one of the top clubs in NSW in the 1970s.
Bad management and the greed of a few undid a wonderful community asset.
The only way I can see to get something happening again is if everyone who is a member of the Catalina Club attends the club’s annual general meeting on October 27 at 7pm and votes in a new board of directors.
I believe people power can achieve wonderful things if people work together for the greater good of the community.
With the goodwill of the Eurobodalla Shire Council general manager, the mayor and the councillors, I’m sure the car park ownership could be resolved.
What a wonderful place for a performing arts centre or swimming pool the site would make.
