The letter, sent to Stef Paschalidis, who owns 4A and 6 North Street, indicates the company is interested in buying his properties to facilitate building the new car park.
The businesses occupying 4 and 6A North Street include The Pearly Oyster Bar, Elders Real Estate and Vaemp, as well as a home.
The proposal is for three levels of decked parking with two-way vehicle ramps, and a 140-square metre expansion of the existing Woolworths supermarket.
The letter, sent by Alternative RE, a specialist property consultant for LIF Pty Ltd which owns Bridge Plaza, seeks feedback on the proposal before it goes to council.
Mr Paschalidis was unavailable for comment, however a family spokesman said he had “no intention” of selling.
Bridge Plaza management did not wish to comment when contacted by the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner.
Elders real estate agent Greig McFarlane believes the approval of the North Street traffic lights is part of the plan.
Mr McFarlane said the position of the two properties tied in with the lights.
“It is pretty easy to see what the plan is,” he said.
He feels that opposition to the lights was brushed aside and this development is the reason why.
“Why survey the public if you have two-thirds of respondents say they don’t want it, and then go ahead with it anyway?” he said.
“The Chamber of Commerce were opposed to it, and at Christmas time it is going to cause a bottleneck.
“For delivery trucks, getting in and out is going to be difficult.
“It is going to be like the old ambulance station (on Beach Road).”
