Fishing Club president David Rothwell said the day was a success because of the family unity on display.
“We don’t measure the success of the event by any profit or losses but by the smiles of the kids,” Rothwell said.
Rothwell said an important part of the event was ensuring kids were educated on sustainable fishing.
“There were 80 fish brought to weigh-in, but many more were returned back in to the lake,” he said.
More than 170 people returned to the Tuross Head Country Club for the presentation and a 32-prize raffle.
The largest catch was a flathead measuring 68cm.
Rothwell praised the effort of sponsors and volunteers for helping to make the day a success.
“Local businesses supplied prizes and helped fill competition bags the kids could take home,” he said.
“Many thanks to all the people who gave up their time on Easter Sunday to make so many families enjoy a wonderful day in Tuross.”
