Moruya Surf Life Saving Club re-introduced the event in 2012 after a 28 year hiatus. Last year’s fun run was such a great success, well supported with over 300 entries that the club has decided to make the run an annual event once again.
Event organisers are upgrading this year’s event, introducing online registrations and electronic race timing.
There is also a bigger range of age categories in 2013. The David Crakenthorp Memorial Masters Award will also be awarded to the fastest master runner.
The 8km race will start at 9am on Sunday October 27 in the beautiful Moruya Riverside Park. The course travels alongside South Head Road.
You will be greeted by the sweet scent of a coastal breeze as you summit the Anchorage Hill and it’s all downhill from here as the course runs alongside the Moruya estuary to cross the finish line at the Moruya Surf Life Saving Club.
On race day, Moruya Surf Club will have a jumping castle for the kids and band Ironic Circus are booked to provide music in the park.
Entries for the Moruya Town to Surf Fun Run entries are now open. Registrations can be made online at www.moruyasurf.org.au or entry forms can be printed and registered via post or by hand at Rustic Pantry and Moruya Chiro and Wellness Centre in Moruya.
The first 300 registrations will receive a goodie bag with Runner’s World Magazine vouchers, a shirt, drink bottle and other goodies. ‘Like’ the Moruya Town to Surf Fun Run Facebook page for updates.
