The exercise saw a search and rescue mission staged across a five-square-mile search zone, with boats from Marine Rescue Tuross Head, Narooma and Bermagui operating under the direction and command of NSW Water Police, marine area command special service from Eden.
“We were running a search pattern for three hours looking for the rescue,” Marine Rescue Tuross Head unit commander Blaise Madden said.
“We were doing creeping lion search consisting of all four vessels, in a row, moving in one direction then the other.
“It was a tremendous exercise in cooperating and working together.”
