The crowd at the tiny locality gathered in front of the honour stone, which was funded by a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The service is organised by the Bergalia community, and Moruya RSL Sub Ranch president Harold Barkely was master of ceremonies.
The service is organised by members of the Bergalia community each year.
Mr Barkely urged those gathered to never forget the sacrifice of the soldiers and their families, many of those who came from Bergalia.
“They died so the lights of freedom and humanity would continue to shine,” he said.
