A woman was taken to hospital after an accident on the Kings Highway, west of Batemans Bay.
Fire and Rescue spokesman Craig Mashman said on arrival they found two cars 100 metres apart, with the small car suffering significant damage.
He said the driver of the smaller car was trapped and injured, and the three occupants of the other car were able to free themselves.
“Fire and Rescue crews removed the whole side of the car to allow access to the injured driver by NSW Ambuance crews,” he said.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said two paramedic crews were sent at 11.50am to reports of a two-vehicle crash.
He said initial reports were of a woman in her 60s suffering a suspected fractured leg.
Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue crews and police were at the scene.
Initial reports were that a woman was trapped, but paramedics at the scene said all parties were out of the vehicles.
Eastbound traffic was affected.
