Among the participants was one visitor from Sydney, and two people doing their first ever Parkrun.
It was also great to see regular Lauren Evans wear her ’50-run club’ red T-shirt that arrived from the UK distributors after a long wait.
There were three personal best times. Congratulations to Rick Stanford, Gregg Berry, and Brock Gilligan. Brock has been in fine form recently - improving his times each week at both Batemans Bay Parkrun and Broulee Runners.
Running is a shared family experience for the Gilligans, as Brock and his two sons are regular attendees at both events.
We were delighted that our Event Director, Kim Young, was able to run her first home Parkrun since January, as there was sufficient help on the sidelines. Thank you to the volunteers who made Kim’s run and the event possible. Well done Tim Cowley, Louise Cox, Ken Cox, Tania Dorney, Betty Jeffery, Kathryn Jeffery, Michael Kennedy, Gail Legg, and Brooke Wilson.
New runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join this friendly and free weekly event. We meet every Saturday morning at 7.50am for the 8am start. The venue is Rotary Park near the Marina roundabout on Beach Road in Batemans Bay.
You can find out more about us and see lots of photographs on our Batemans Bay Parkrun Facebook page.
If you fancy Parkrun, you need to register online at www.parkrun.com.au. You will be allocated a personal barcode which needs to be printed and brought to Parkrun so you can get a recorded result.
