A little bit of parkrun royalty arrived at the Batemans Bay start line on Saturday morning. Veteran parkrunner Kathy Rae from Penrith completed her 136th parkrun at the weekend. By visiting Batemans Bay, she has now completed a parkrun in 48 different locations throughout NSW which is a fantastic achievement.

Some 45 finishers were treated to beautiful conditions for running or walking on Saturday. Six participants achieved personal best times: Riley Beby (Junior), Caitlin Seidel (Junior), Kylie Young, Claire Stutchbury, Samantha Zimmerman and Viv Chapman.
Daniel Beby once again produced an impressive run to exactly match his PB of 16:45, which shows there is very little margin for error at his elite level. Regular Neil Mackay (18:53) and Mark Stutchbury of Goulburn Triathlon Club were the second and third runners to complete the 5km respectively. Olivia Stutchbury (21:21), also of Goulburn, held the course PB for a number of weeks after the launch event in May and was the first female to cross the line on Saturday. Regular Lauren Evans (21:38) and first timer Debbie Nichols (24:24) made the initial trio of ladies to finish.
This coming weekend Medibank and parkrun are teaming up to host “Personal Better Day”, the purpose of which is to encourage participation rather than performance.
