Clr Brown said he wanted to see projects he had been working on come to fruition.
“I believe firstly, I have learnt a lot in the first four years and have put a lot into play and I want to see some of the projects I’ve been working hard on, particularly the (Moruya) airport, be developed,” he said.
“The airport project will start in the next fours years.”
“We are hopeful for some investment from the state. We have an outstanding grant application which we hope to have confirmed shortly."
Clr Brown admitted he could have done things “a bit differently” during his four years as Mayor.
“I don’t like looking back on regret. I could have done some things a bit differently but at the end of the day I did all I could to get the best result for the community,” he said.
“I am extremely proud I have been able to keep the shire a stand alone council.
“We have done very well to continue to deliver good services to the community as a stand alone council.”
If reelected, Clr Brown would work with the University of Wollongong on student accommodation options to benefit the Batemans Bay campus.
He said it had been an “absolute privilege” to be Mayor of the Eurobodalla.
“Not many people get that opportunity and I believe the experience I have learnt and the support I have gained and relationships I have built with agencies and governments will be needed in the next four-year term when there will be great changes in Local Government,” Clr Brown said.
“I have been pretty authentic. I tried to lead the shire with respect and empathy and act in the best interest of the community, I have never put my own interests or any personal agenda first and I would continue to do that. I would like to think I have been pretty genuine in my approach.
“I have always tried to be myself.
“Being Mayor is much more than cutting ribbons and opening playgrounds; it is about advocating for the community to get better outcomes for the community.
“It is a full time job.”
