The world has been swept up in the Nintendo craze since its launch, with the app now boasting more active users than Twitter and Tinder.
Batemans Bay has not been immune, with a number of Pokemon spotted around the area.
A Facebook group for all Pokemon Go lovers has even been set up.
Among those joining the hunt is MrWallu (Pokemon Go name) who downloaded the app less than two weeks ago, and has already moved up to level 19.
The 28-year-old said that while it is based on a computer game, there is definitely a social aspect to the app.
“I enjoy the fact that this app is encouraging people, both young and old, to get up off the couch, go outside, exercise and interact with other people,” he said.
“This is a game where if you don’t put the effort in, you don’t get the reward. I am amazed at the amount of people playing, how competitive players are with their teams, and how individuals are striving to become better players.
“A lot of people may think that what we are doing is silly or immature but I think a little more happiness and fun in the world, is not a bad thing, and at the end of the day, we do want to catch em all.”
While MrWallu said he doesn’t have any favourite hunting spots within the Eurobodalla, he “checks the app as often as is appropriate” when he is out and about.
Batemans Bay Mini Golf has this week attempted to get more customers by advertising they are a ‘pokestop’.
