Police are calling for witnesses to a three-car crash on the Princes Highway at Mogo on Wednesday which left an elderly Surfside man in a critical condition and three others hurt.
A South Durras woman, 31, and a 49-year-old man and his 70-year- old female passenger, both from Broulee, were injured in the June 29 incident.
The crash near Dog Trap Road occurred in the 50km/h zone at about 12.30pm.
Police said an 80-year- old Surfside man was driving a vehicle south on the Princes Highway when the vehicle collided with the rear of another vehicle also travelling south.
“That vehicle, being driven by a 31-year- old woman from South Durras, collided with a third vehicle being driven north along the Princes Highway by a 49-year-old man and carrying a 70-year-old female passenger, both from Broulee,” a spokesperson for NSW Police Media said.
On Monday morning, the 80-year-old man remained in a critical condition in The Canberra Hospital after being flown with the Snowy Hydro SouthCare crew.
Police said NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the remaining drivers and passenger at the scene.
They were taken to Batemans Bay and Moruya Hospital by road.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman on Wednesday said one patient was also taken by road to an Illawarra hospital.
One car was tossed onto an embankment in the incident.
Fire & Rescue crews attended the scene.
“Police are continuing their inquiries into the crash and would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision,” a police spokesperson said.
