A 42-year-old Surfside man has appeared in Batemans Bay Local Court after a seven-hour siege at his home from Sunday night to Monday morning.

Police said police officers attended his home at around 10pm on Sunday in relation to an alleged earlier domestic assault matter with his ex-partner at Surf Beach.
Police allege that the man made threats to the officers at his Surfside home.
Specialist tactical operations police and negotiators attended.
At 5.45am on Monday, the man surrendered to police. He was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.
He was charged with common assault, using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention and larceny.
He was refused bail and did not enter a plea in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday.
The matter was adjourned to July 4.
