Going batty
I have just spent the last half an hour on a cool Sunday morning washing the bat droppings from our front door landing and the walls of the house.

I wonder if the mayor and the general manager have dared to come and sit in the walkway over the swamp (aka water gardens) at about 6pm in the afternoon and look at nature in all its wonder - i.e screeching.noise, smell, faeces and urine being dropped whilst our little creatures take to the wing? I bet they haven't, but we have to put up with it every morning and every night.
I agree with Andrew Constance that council should just get on with moving these stinking creatures away, rather than stick their head in the sand, pass the buck and play politics and use our money to attend meetings in Sydney.
The Batemans Bay Chamber of Commerce seems not have any public policy on this issue - I would have thought they would have been screaming because of the potential loss of tourist business and the huge drop in house and land prices since we have been inundated.
Council is proposing to spend over a million dollars on further 'streetscaping' around the Batmans Bay CBD. The streets don't look too bad to me, and wouldn't it be better to spend this money to help eradicate the bats? We need to send a clear message to council that the ratepayers in this shire are more that fed up and something needs to be done NOW.

Voters will decide
Having just spent a short period in our marvelous Bay Hospital, it has been bought to my attention that the Water Gardens bat plague is not just a problem of a few unfortunates living as neighbours of the gardens.
Did you know that line of sight places the plague nesting area no more than 200 metres away from our hospital?
This means that at least twice each night a filth storm rains on what is meant to be our communities most disease free area.
Even the hospitals windows must be kept closed to avoid the stench. When it rains the smell is beyond description.
It is past time our elected representatives arranged for some common sense to be used in applying the irresponsible laws covering native fauna protection.
Our representatives are after all guilty of passing the laws in the first place. Voters will get their way eventually with or without the current office holders help.

This is no joke
Batemans Bay CBD and surrounding suburbs stinks all the time more and more like Flying Fox feces! The time is NOW to stop a fussing and feuding, as we, the community, want and deserve a resolution.
We all must be aware of community care, health and lifestyles that are being consistently disrupted day and night. Do more than what little is currently being done and act to eradicate this infestation and invasion of plague numbers of Flying Fox’s.
To experience this absolute noxious disgrace for yourself, take a drive along South Street, High Street, Old Princes Highway and Museum Place, for starters.
Please be aware that any residents or visitors to the above mentioned locations who are prescribed medication that lowers their immune system, should avoid areas infested with Flying Fox’s. This includes people receiving specialist medical care and/or who have received an organ and/or tissue donation.
