The South Coast Animal Advocates and End Live Exports group was originally formed as a Facebook group but has recently started holding meetings and is looking for new members.
Group convenor Tracey Paterson said the groups aim was to “raise awareness and educate” people.
“We talk about where food comes from and how it is produced,” she said.
“We are not looking to cause trouble and stir people up by publishing graphic images.”
Mrs Paterson said she wanted the food industry to transition to a chilled meat trade.
“Our aims and information are global,” she said.
“We hope to make a difference for the millions of animals around our planet suffering day in, day out.
“It is only through exposure and pressure that animal cruelty and these industries will be stopped.”
The groups next meeting will be held on February 21 at 2pm at 94 Yagura St, Malua Bay. For more information call Tarcey on 0411 102 220 or Coral on 0401 488 967.
Animal Justice Part convenor Geoff Pryor will attend the meeting.
