The under 14s tackled a physical and spirited Narooma outfit.
The young Sharks were too strong and maintained their unbeaten record with a 36-10 win.
The Sharks hadn’t played in five weeks but quickly shook the dust off and controlled the game, leading 18-6 at half-time.
Lachlan Fitzgerald scored three tries.
Under 14s coach Grant Arnold said his team played well after such a long break.
“Jack Godfrey, Jaden Young, Jack Grant, Jack Gallen and Jake Spence had good games,” he said.
Narooma plays the Eden Tigers in the preliminary final at Ack Weyman Oval this Saturday to see who will take on the Sharks in the grand final at Tathra the following weekend.
Moruya’s under 16s had just 13 players available for the trip south and relied on Godfrey, Treigh Stewart and Anthony Henry to back up from the under 14s.
Unfortunately for the Sharks, Matt Parrish, Jackson Cole and Denzel Bond succumbed to injuries and playing little or no part in the game.
Bega’s depth was too tough for the Sharks too overcome and they lost 28-12.
Moruya’s Ed Clarke scored and Jesse Fairbanks planted his first try.
Jack Hyndes kicked two goals from two attempts.
Clarke, Brendan Blackmore and Fin McNaughton left nothing in the tank and Cole was having a great game until he went off injured.
