A Southern NSW LHD spokesperson said his condition is believed to be stable and satisfactory.
A family of five who were in the car involved in the accident were unharmed.
10.15am: A man trapped in a truck after a serious vehicle accident on the Kings Highway has been freed and taken to Batemans Bay Hospital but his injuries are understood not to be serious.
Police and Rural Emergency services are at the scene, about 10kms west of Nelligen.
The road has been reopened, but traffic control is in place with speed restrictions.
Paramedics and Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue crews worked to free the man, shortly after 9am.
Batemans Bay police have established a crime scene.
Traffic was banked up for kilometres between Nelligen and the accident scene, but has since cleared.
8.30am: The Kings Highway is closed in both directions after a serious accident near Lyons Road.
It is understood the two-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 8am on Monday, August 24.
It involved a light truck and a sedan.
The truck was overturned and was lodged against the embankment and a Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue spokesman understood the driver was trapped.
The scene was scattered with debris and the sedan, understood to be carrying two women and a child, was severely damaged. However all occupants of the sedan appeared to be safe and out of the vehicle.
Police, Batemans Bay Rural Fire Service, NSW Fire and Rescue and NSW Ambulance paramedics are at the scene.
