A service will be held in Canberra on Tuesday for former Batemans Bay resident Sally Moira Thistlewaite, who died on July 30 after a five-year struggle with cancer.

Formerly of the Bay Post, Ms Thistlewaite (Dunn) (nee Carmody) will be farewelled on August 4, at 1.30pm, in the Chapel of the Norwood Park Crematorium, 65 Sandford St, Mitchell.
Ms Thistlewaite, 59, was a beloved wife to Pete (dec), loving and loved mother to Aaron, Crystal and Chelsea and mother-in-law to Kirsty.
Friend and former colleague Kate Bradstreet, a former editor of the Bay Post, remembers Ms Thistlewaite as "the life of the party".
