The strong howling winds made it uncomfortable for the boat and beach anglers but quite a few toughed it out as neither club wanted to loss an edge.
The rock-hoppers had it a little easier as they tried to find a corner out of the breeze.
They were rewarded with the best haul and 24 people weighed in fish, which were limited to two of each species.
The Soldiers Club team weighed a total of 19.170kg with an average of 1.27kg per angler.
Maurie Ison bagged the most weight with 2.5kg.
The Batemans Bay Fishing Club totalled 18.061kg, winning with an average of 1.389kg per angler.
Jimmy Ettles had the heaviest bag at 3.026kg.
“Congratulations to all who braved the conditions and we will do it again next year,” Batemans Bay Soldiers Club Fishing Club publicity officer Thomas Fitzgerald said.
