After a long pre-season, players were ready to test their skills against Canberra’s St Edmunds College and Radford College.
At home, the under 10s showed great promise for the coming season.
In their first competitive rugby game they lost to a more experienced St Edmunds team 7-24.
The under 12s lost none of the grand final winning form displayed last season and dominated a weakened St Edmunds side 90-12.
The under 14s played with improved structure and skills to draw with St Edmunds 24-all.
The Dolphins’ under 16s were impressive in Canberra and dominated Radford College with a 24-nil win.
The club’s under 18s made the historic step to play in ACT division two this season.
The team took on the challenge and played with determination but went down to a well-structured Radford team 12-55.
All junior teams play away this weekend.
