GROUP Six proved to be too much for Group 16 at the Greater Southern representative rugby league match at Mackay Park on May 1.

On a cool and drizzly night under lights at Mackay Park, Group Six ran in six tries to three to win 36-16.
With the win, it booked a match against Group Seven on May 9.
Group 16 made a better start to the match after it charged down a kick on the last tackle of the first set of six by Group Six.
The home side spun the ball left and winger Caine Brierley was the beneficiary as he scored in the corner.
Dennis Green slotted the conversion and Group 16 led 6-nil after three minutes.
At the 10-minute mark Group Six earned a penalty and a fine offload in front of the posts set up prop Ray Cashmere for a converted try.
The ensuing kick off was dropped but Group 16 couldn't captialise on the field position.
For the next 20 minutes the game was back and forth.
Group Six started to plant itself in Group 16's half off the back of a few penalties but the home side fought for territory with a kicking game that landed balls on the greasy surface.
The deadlock was broken after 32 minutes when Sione Kaivelata's offload went to ground.
It was picked up by Billy Carroll who slung a low ball to his right to Luke Roberts who crossed the try line.
The conversion was potted and Group Six led 12-10.
Jake Clarke provided the highlight of the match for Group 16 when he intercepted a wayward forward pass and ran 60 metres to score in the shadows of half-time.
The following kick off was dropped by Group 16 and Kenny Ahovelo took advantage to score on a converted try on half-time.
After the break Group Six quickly led 24-10 after a converted try was scored by Matt Thorpe.
However, Group 16 had a bit of fight in it yet.
Dummy half Luke Jay provided the spark his side was looking for when darted between two forwards to score near the uprights.
Green slotted the conversion and Group 16 trailed 24-16.
Over the next 15 minutes Group Six forced a number of drop outs.
The field position resulted in a second try to Roberts and Carroll, who scored at the death to seal the 36-16 win.
