Aboriginal historian Gordon Briscoe spoke about his memoir, the story of being taken from his family at an early age, his struggles with racial prejudice as he grew up, his part in setting up the Aboriginal Embassy in Canberra, and his association with prominent politicians and activists in the 1970s.
Gordon, now a leading Aboriginal historian, and his wife, Norma, were invited to join the group for the second hour and answer questions from the group.
A very lively discussion of Aboriginal issues followed and book group members were very appreciative of Gordon’s insight and contribution.
