Motorcyclists are more likely to come to grief on Eurobodalla roads, compared to drivers of other vehicles, than in the state as a whole.

Motorcycle accidents comprised an average of 12.2 per cent of all vehicle accidents in NSW, according to the latest figures from Transport for NSW.
However, the figures were worse in the Eurobodalla, with motorcycle accidents accounting for 14.1 per cent of all crashes on the shire’s roads.
In an effort to bring those numbers down, a safety skills course for new and experienced motorcycle riders will be held in Moruya next month.
Although most NSW riders must complete a two-day safety course to secure a learner permit, Eurobodalla riders are exempt from this requirement as the closest training centre is in Queanbeyan.
Eurobodalla Shire Council will host a course for beginners on May 2 and for intermediate riders on May 3.
The beginners’ course is aimed at riders on learner or provisional licences and will include low-speed skills development and safety.
The intermediate course is for riders seeking to improve their skills or who are returning to the road after a break.
Intermediate riders will join a two-to-three hour group ride.
Mayor Lindsay Brown said motorbike riders were the most vulnerable road users.
“They are at a disadvantage because safety courses aren’t available locally,” he said.
“These training courses will benefit both new and experienced riders.
“Learning motorcycle safety skills will help you to be confident and capable of responding appropriately to changes in road conditions or if anything does go pear shaped out on the road.”
The courses were also a chance to meet other riders.
They will be in the council car park on the corner of Vulcan and Murray Streets.
Each course costs $100.
Bookings are essential by Monday, April 27.
