At about 8.30am, on Monday, March 30, emergency services responded to reports a car had collided with cars on the Princes Highway.
Police said officers from the Far South Coast Local Area Command found the driver, a 48-year-old Batemans Bay man, trapped in the car.
Officers assisted the man, but he died at the scene.
Police said witnesses said the Holden Barina was driving south, when it collided with parked cars before coming to a stop.
Police said the deceased was the sole occupant of the car and no-one else was injured.
An investigation into the collision has commenced and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Shortly before 9am, two units from the Bega Volunteer Rescue Association joined police and other emergency services at the scene, just a few hundred metres north of the Brogo Hall.
A utility vehicle thought to have been parked at the scene was sitting perpendicular to the road.
The car driven by the deceased man was found with severe damage to it's front, at the bottom of an embankment.
