Police were called to reports of a kayak found floating on Clyde River near the Batemans Bay bridge on Tuesday.
A Far South Coast Local Area Command spokesman said that a sea kayak was found washed up on the beach at Korners Park on the Clyde River next to Wharf Road at North Batemans Bay at 8am on Tuesday.
There was no trace of a paddle or anything else with the kayak. It was taken to Batemans Bay Police Station with the help of a Eurobodalla Shire Council employee.
“There have been no reports of missing persons so we are not treating it as suspicious,” the spokesman said.
The kayak is still at the police station and police are waiting for its rightful owner to claim it.
