After an early morning bus ride, the group went to Homebush and 16 juniors had an “experience of a life time” when they played hot shots on showcourt one.
After the group played they were given a tour of the tunnels, players’ lounge, media room practice courts and the Ken Rosewell Arena.
The boys and girls also greeted the men’s doubles players and in the evening the children formed a guard of honour for the women’s finalists on Ken Rosewell Arena.
Throughout the day the group met up with tennis legends such as Pat Rafter and John McEnroe and Apia International finalist Karolina Pliskova.
Batemans Bay Tennis Club president Dave Johnston praised club member Bruce Ward for driving the group up and delivering them home by 4.30am the next morning.
“Without Bruce these days would not go ahead and we are already looking forward to next year,” Johnston said.
