Workability band Ironic Circus played and a presentation was made to Batemans Bay Special Olympics footballer, golfer, cricketer, basketballer and swimmer Andrew Radford.
Social Inclusion Week was founded by Choir of Hard Knocks’ Dr Jonathon Welch, and it was appropriate that Adult Education got involved.
“We are about education pathways and also about addressing barriers to employment, and there are many in this area,” acting Adult Education CEO Anthony Mayne said.
“The average age in NSW is 33 and in the Eurobodalla it is 51, so there are real challenges with people being disengaged.
“There are also people in the 18 to 24 age group who are trying to get into work for the first time since school, and with our courses and programs we strive to help them do so.
“We are not all about learning, but about education accessibility.”
