On Tuesday, councillors will consider a recommendation to correct mapping, a land use table and clause irregularities and errors that exist in the current mapping instrument used in the LEP.
A report presented to councillors suggests that given the minor nature of the amendments, community consultation be waived.
The amendments will address the concerns of several landowners that zonings on their land did not reflect what was adopted by council.
Among the six amendments, it is intended that certain urban lands are zoned under the 2012 LEP; anomalies on maps will be corrected; additional land uses will be added to land-use tables in certain zones; local heritage items are correctly listed; and the LEP’s exempt and complying development categories be reviewed.
If approved by council, the proposed amendments will then be submitted to the Department of Planning and Environment for consideration.
