FILMING at Tilba’s River Cottage Australia is wrapping up with the third series set to air early next year.
The crew and host Paul West are hoping for news from Foxtel soon announcing a fourth series.
The show has continued with its sustainability themes and living off the land, with Mr West regularly selling his veggies and other produce at local markets.
He continues to branch out into new areas using the expertise of fellow locals and producers, but all will be revealed when the next series airs.
The traditional final feast took place on the Tilba property on Sunday, this time taking on the form of a big cricket match between Tilba and Turlinjah.
Stopping in for the day from the UK was documentary maker Andrew Palmer, from the company Keo Films, which is producing the show.
He said the BBC had now purchased the show so those in the UK will soon be seeing the beauty and productivity of the local area.
Journalists from publications including the Sydney Morning Herald and several magazines toured the property last Monday night after heading out to Montague Island on a local charter boat with the host.
Mr West cooked up the morwong and flathead the journalists caught and answered their questions about life on the farm.
“The economic side of it can be very difficult but I know plenty of people who are doing it,” Mr West said.
“Direct marketing of your products is the only way - you can make it work – selling directly to the people who eat the food you produce.”
The trend of consumers demanding locally grown and sustainable produce would only continue to rise in Australia, he said.
