The function was an opportunity for all regional academies in NSW to showcase the achievements of scholarship holders that the academy network produces through its development programs.
Hearne, 15, is a junior world champion in the archery discipline of bowhunter.
He was joined by Tegan Molloy, 18, from Jindabyne, and Tasmin Davies, 13, from Crookwell.
Molloy won the junior world championship in downhill mountain bike in Norway and Tasmin represented NSW at the National Cycling Championships as a member of the under 15s track team.
SERAS boss Garry Lane said it was “fabulous” for the athletes to be honoured by members of parliament.
