The Eurobodalla Shire Council constructed two gyms at Riverside Park, Moruya and Wagonga Inlet, and Narooma, and it will install one at Corrigans Reserve next month.
The outdoor gyms are free to use and council will host free exercise classes to ensure residents can safely use equipment.
Council hopes the new equipment will encourage people to live an active lifestyle and addresses obesity.
“By providing space and facilities for residents to exercise at no cost, council is addressing one of the barriers often identified as a reason not to participate in structured exercise,” said Cr Brown.
“Our rates of overweight or obese adults remain above the NSW average and this equipment is one step towards supporting our residents to positively address their own health and well-being.”
The free classes will be held on October 7, 14, 21 and 28 at Riverside Park from 4.45pm to 5.45pm, and at Wagonga Inlet from October 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 9 to 10am.
Classes will run in November and December and will also be held in Batemans Bay.
