HAVING for some time pondered how we no longer need mental hospital type facilities, I have finally come to the conclusion that most of the unfortunates who once inhabited these institutions have been turned onto the street to exist in dumpsters and cardboard boxes.

However it now becomes apparent that quite a few have gravitated to a life of ease in the Senate where they are busily working away running interference while fostering which ever pet project keeps their – (dare I say minds) occupied.
Most of these projects do not and never will have any benefit to the unfortunate taxpayers who are paying to keep them in their life of ease.
Many countries, including New Zealand, do not have a senate. Could this be why we keep hearing New Zealand is punching above its weight?
