About 6.20pm, officers were called to a unit in Evans St, Moruya, following reports a man, aged in his 40s, had been found dead.
Upon arrival, police located the body of a man.
Detectives established a crime scene, which has been examined by specialist forensic officers.
Investigations are ongoing and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
A post mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

Police have been at the scene of the death in Evans Street since late Thursday night but have been unable to confirm any details of the matter.
A spokesperson says it's too early to confirm the cause of death and investigations are continuing.
