Administered by Wesley Uniting Employment, this team has been turning up on Mondays for about three months and is making such a difference by tidying, pruning, weeding, mulching and transporting load after load of garden debris to the tip.
They are doing all that extra work that council cannot do on a regular basis and which we have tried to do in the past.
Cemeteries are places that most people don’t even think about until they lose a loved one. But in reality, it’s amazing how often they are visited; not only by locals, but by visitors who either come to trace their families, or just because headstones can be historically fascinating and can tell you a lot about a place and the families who lived there.
An unloved cemetery can reflect poorly on the town as a whole. So, thank you Bruce and the team for doing such a worthwhile job and be proud of what you are achieving.
